Meet Strategy & Business Development Analysts
INTERVIEW: AMANDA MUNOZ
What country are you from originally? Where else have you lived?
I'm an Iowa girl -- raised in a town of approximately 2200 people in southwest Iowa. I've also lived in Joplin, Missouri, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Charlottesville, Virginia, and Bentonville, Arkansas
What languages can you speak?
I speak English and rudimentary Spanish. My husband's family speaks mostly Spanish, so I'm trying to practice -- stop by and test my Espanol!
What is your educational background?
I have a BS in Food Science from Iowa State University and my MBA is from the Darden School at the University of Virginia.
How long have you been with Cargill, and what did you do prior to joining the company?
I have been with Cargill nearly three years. Before business school I spent five years at Schreiber Foods (processed cheese company) in operations and quality assurance.
Where was your Field Assignment?
My field assignment was Minneapolis as an assistant marketing manager in the Food Systems business unit before joining SBD in September of 2005.
What do you like to do for fun/what are your hobbies?
I enjoy reading, listening to music, and obsessing over what color to paint our spare bedroom.
Who is your role model, and why?
I have heard that Madeleine Albright "leads by listening" which I think is very interesting -- it is most likely what made her a good diplomat. I think there's a lot to be learned by asking the right questions, listening, and observing.
Nobody knows I've...
...been raccoon hunting...been the Adair County Champion Sheep Showman (person)...led the Wal-Mart cheer at the Saturday morning management meeting.
